This was interesting. I agree about rabbits, but am very supportive of adopting dogs and cats. All 3 dogs we’ve had were picked up on a city street and not in the best shape. We give them a happy life and even if the door is open they won’t run away. They are happy and loved.

There’s no excuse for animal cruelty of any kind. As a vegan myself I completely agree. But if you can rescue unwanted or abandoned animals who would live short and dangerous lives without a human caregiver, what is the problem with that? And neuter or spade them all!

Millions of unwanted animals are put to sleep each year. I’d encourage anyone who can to save a life. Adopt, don’t shop! It will
enhance your life — and theirs!

One last thought — dogs’ dietary needs can be satisfied by a vegan diet. Several brands are now available, which can help solve this conflict you feel. (Cats can’t.)
