The Hidden Reasons You Aren’t Reaching Your Goals
And the good news about what you can do about them
I read a post the other day someone had written lamenting their inability to ever achieve their goals. It made me sad. Setting and achieving goals helps give our lives structure and satisfaction.
We are told so often that if we set goals and work hard, we can achieve them. We want to believe that.
Except, sometimes it’s not quite that simple.
The harsh truth is that sometimes we can work hard and not achieve our goals. When this happens, it leaves us feeling ashamed and depressed. We know too well that this world likes winners, not losers.
Whenever this happened to me in the past, it made me want to give up. I thought I would never do what I had wanted to do. I would never become who or what I wanted to be. It’s so depressing.
But I don’t think this way anymore.
I’m going to invite you to look at your goals in a new way. It will change not just how you set them, but also how you measure your success and use what you learn from trying to achieve each goal you set, regardless of whether you “succeed” or “fail” in the conventional sense.
