I was most afraid in reading this post that it would ruin the movie for me, but it did the opposite. I love it even more. I watched it first on VHS at one of my birthday parties. And I had the soundtrack too.

Sadly, you did make some very good points comparing the society depicted in the film and today. But that didn't make me any sadder than I've already been, because, yes, it's awful.
